Title - PR & Marketing Executive

Location - Remote first but available for in person collaboration in Edinburgh or London

Aveni is redefining how financial institutions use AI. We build real, production-ready AI solutions that help financial services firms transform how they operate, manage risk and deliver better outcomes for their customers.

We’re looking for a PR & Marketing Executive to help build Aveni’s profile across the UK financial services market and support the delivery of our PR, communications and wider marketing activity.

This is a varied, hands-on role for someone who knows what makes a good story, enjoys building relationships with journalists and wants to develop their career at the intersection of AI, fintech and financial services.

The role

Working closely with the Head of PR & Communications, you’ll help tell Aveni’s story to the market, building relationships with journalists and industry influencers, identifying opportunities for Aveni to contribute to the conversation and securing relevant media coverage.

You’ll support the development of proactive PR campaigns, commentary and thought leadership around Aveni’s business priorities, product developments, customer successes and the wider issues shaping financial services.

The role goes beyond traditional media relations. You’ll also contribute to customer stories, executive and internal communications, events, awards, speaker opportunities, analyst relations and wider marketing campaigns.

You’ll work across Aveni, collaborating with Marketing, Sales, Product, Customer Success and senior leadership to make sure our communications are timely, consistent and aligned with our brand and market positioning.

What you’ll be doing

  • You’ll build and maintain relationships with journalists across UK business, financial services, fintech, compliance, risk and technology media, proactively pitching stories, commentary, interviews and contributed content.

  • You’ll support the development and delivery of PR campaigns around Aveni’s business priorities, product launches, research, customer stories and relevant market developments.

  • You’ll help run Aveni’s day-to-day press office, responding to journalist enquiries, identifying commentary opportunities, coordinating interviews and preparing briefing materials.

  • You’ll maintain our communications and editorial calendar across PR, thought leadership, research, webinars, awards, speaking opportunities and company announcements.

  • You’ll work with Sales and Customer Success to identify and develop compelling customer stories, case studies, testimonials and joint communications.

  • You’ll support internal communications, helping colleagues stay informed about company news, customer wins, product developments, events and media coverage.

  • You’ll work with Aveni’s senior leaders and subject matter experts to build their external profiles through LinkedIn content, commentary, talking points and other communications.

  • You’ll support our thought leadership programme, helping develop webinars, research reports, whitepapers and other content around the issues that matter to our market.

  • You’ll identify and coordinate relevant conference, panel, podcast and webinar speaking opportunities, as well as industry awards.

  • You’ll support our relationships with industry analysts and research organisations and help coordinate analyst briefings and materials.

  • You’ll work with the wider Marketing team to support conferences, roundtables, webinars and customer events.

What we’re looking for

  • You’ll have solid experience in PR, communications or a closely related role, with experience working in a B2B environment.

  • You’ll have experience dealing directly with journalists and proactively pitching stories and ideas.

  • You’ll be a strong writer and editor, comfortable producing press releases, pitches, commentary and other external communications.

  • You’ll have strong news judgement and be able to identify what makes a compelling story and how to tailor it for different audiences.

  • You’ll be confident communicating with journalists, senior stakeholders and external partners.

  • You’ll be able to take complex or technical subjects and turn them into clear, engaging communications.

  • You’ll be highly organised, with excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects, deadlines and priorities at the same time.

  • You’ll understand the role PR and communications play in building brand awareness, reputation and supporting wider commercial objectives.

  • You’ll have a genuine interest in AI, fintech, financial services and the wider media agenda.

  • You’ll be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment where priorities can change quickly and be confident building relationships across the business.

Nice to have

  • Experience working with UK financial services, fintech, compliance, risk, regulatory or technology media.

  • Experience within a PR agency and/or an in-house B2B communications role.

  • Existing relationships with journalists covering financial services, fintech, compliance, risk or related sectors.

  • Experience supporting events, awards, speaker programmes or analyst relations.

  • Familiarity with PR monitoring and media database platforms.

  • Experience using HubSpot or other marketing automation platforms.

  • An understanding of the UK financial services and regulatory environment, including areas such as Consumer Duty, compliance, conduct risk and AI governance.

Why join Aveni?

You’ll be joining Aveni at an exciting point in our growth, working at the intersection of AI, regulation and financial services.

You’ll have the opportunity to help shape how Aveni shows up in the market, working directly with senior leaders, subject matter experts, customers and journalists to tell stories about some of the most important changes happening across financial services.

It’s a broad role with the opportunity to build experience across media relations, thought leadership, executive communications, customer advocacy and wider marketing – while having genuine ownership and visibility across the business.

What you’ll love:

  • Remote-first across the UK, with regular off-sites and in-person gatherings.

  • Work abroad policy.

  • Co-working spaces available.

  • 34 days’ holiday, including flexible bank holidays, plus your birthday off.

  • Company-wide off-sites.

  • Optional Personal Development Plan.

  • Flexible benefits platform.

  • Life Insurance, Income Protection and Critical Illness cover.

  • Pension with up to 5% matched employer contribution, with the option to increase contributions.

  • Private health and dental care.

  • Enhanced family leave.
