Finishing Operative

As a print finishing operative, you will play a crucial role in making printed materials into professional products, utilizing precision cutting, laminating, binding, folding techniques as well as other finishing skills. You will ensure that the customers receive a quality finished product. Your main role will be to produce quality books using our saddles stitching equipment.
12pm - 8pm shift
Starting wage ranging from 25-27K depending on experience
Candidate requirements:
- Previous experience operating saddle stitch machines, specifically the Duplo I-Saddle and Horizon models preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering finished products of the highest quality.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Capable of troubleshooting and resolving issues during the finishing process.
- Willingness to adapt to changing priorities throughout the working day.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced production environment.
- Attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Flexibility to work different shifts and overtime as needed.
- Good physical condition and ability to lift 20kg.
Responsibilities:
- Execute various finishing processes such as cutting, binding, laminating, and folding to complete printed product.
- Conduct thorough quality checks on finished products to ensure they meet high standards and customer expectations.
- Operate and maintain finishing equipment, troubleshoot issues, and perform routine maintenance.
- Manage workflow efficiently to meet production schedules and ensure timely delivery of finished products.
- Handle and organize printed materials, preparing them for finishing processes.
- Set up saddle stitch machines according to job specifications, including adjusting settings for paper size, fold types, and trim sizes.
- Load paper and other materials into the machine and ensure proper alignment and registration.
- Monitor machine operations during production runs to ensure quality standards are met.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues with equipment, such as jams or misfeeds.
- Perform routine maintenance on machines to keep them in optimal working condition.
- Coordinate with team leaders to prioritize jobs and meet production deadlines.
- Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work area.
