About G-20
G-20 Group is a cross-asset trading firm headquartered in Switzerland, trading delta-one and derivatives markets globally. We combine startup agility with institutional-grade experience in proprietary trading, technology, and quantitative finance.
Role Overview
We are seeking a strategic and hands-on Finance & Treasury Lead to oversee the Group's global finance function, with particular responsibility for its Swiss and UK entities and oversight of a complex international, multi-entity environment. The role combines leadership of the finance team with hands-on ownership of financial control, accounting, reporting, treasury, payroll, billing, payments, compliance, audit readiness, budgeting, forecasting, and process improvement. The successful candidate will be a trusted adviser to senior management and will ensure the finance function provides accurate information, strong controls, effective operational support, and scalable processes for the Group.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide responsive finance support to management, counterparties, partners, and internal stakeholders during normal business hours and, where circumstances reasonably require, outside standard hours.
- Maintain high standards of work ethic, execution, reporting, risk awareness, confidentiality, and financial governance appropriate to a financial markets business.
- Work cross-functionally with Legal, Operations, Trading, management, and other teams to support new products, jurisdictions, legal entities, structures, and business initiatives.
- Maintain and develop the Group’s accounting systems, including SoftLedger, and establish effective finance processes, controls, review procedures, and automation to improve efficiency, accuracy, reliability, and scalability.
- Manage relationships with tax authorities, financial regulators, banks, payroll providers, compliance consultants, local accountants, and other third-party finance providers.
- Research, document, and resolve complex technical accounting matters and maintain appropriate accounting policies and supporting documentation.
- Coordinate external and statutory audits, including audit planning, preparation of supporting schedules, resolution of technical accounting matters, and management of relationships with auditors.
- Ensure compliance with applicable financial, regulatory, tax, and statutory obligations across the Group, including Swiss and UK requirements and relevant FINMA, FCA, HMRC, and tax authority processes.
- Ensure timely and accurate processing and control of global payroll, billing, supplier payments, employee expenses, and related finance operations, with appropriate oversight of local statutory requirements.
- Oversee cash flow, treasury, and liquidity management across multiple jurisdictions, entities, banks, and currencies.
- Prepare and oversee timely financial statements, management reporting, and internal performance dashboards.
- In conjunction with Operations, manage the Treasury system, ensuring daily reconciliation of all desk positions and integrating non-trading cash and equity movements into Treasury reporting.
- Develop and monitor forecasts, analyse variances, and provide financial analysis, challenge, and recommendations to support strategic decision-making, business performance, and cost control.
- Ensure complete and accurate capture of the Group’s different revenue sources in the ledger, working closely with Operations and Trading as required.
- Maintain the accuracy and integrity of general accounting across multiple global offices, including accounts payable, general ledger, payroll, fixed assets, investments, and other key accounting records.
- Own the month-end and year-end close across the Group, including preparation and review of journal entries, accruals, prepayments, provisions, account analysis, and bank, crypto wallet, company card, balance sheet, and other complex account reconciliations; ensure discrepancies are investigated and resolved promptly.
- Lead, mentor, and manage the finance team, with responsibility for accounting, payroll, billing, payments, financial control, reporting, and the effective allocation, review, coverage, and handover of work.
- Recognized accounting qualification (e.g., CPA, ACA, ACCA, or equivalent).
- Minimum 7 years’ experience in finance, preferably within a trading or financial services environment.
- Experience of working in international and regulatory environments.
- Strong understanding of cross-border payroll, global payments, and multi-entity structures.
- Proven leadership capabilities, with a track record of managing teams and external vendors.
- Strong interpersonal, problem-solving, and communication skills.
