We provide health and wellbeing services working with local community agencies to help taiohi aged 12-25 develop life skills and build strong connections, including their school, employer, whānau, and friends.

The Role | Mō tēnei tūranga mahi
This role is fixed-term, part time, working 16 hours per week, Saturday and Sunday, 11am- 7:30pm in Hamilton.
In this role, you must be motivated in working nights, be willing to bake, if asked, as this is to support the different activities in the whare (house) and share the administrative work given by staff. Other areas of this role include:
- Supporting taiohi with mental health and addiction concerns and social stressors alongside their whānau and peers, to build resilience and increase wellbeing.
- Work with schools and community agencies to build awareness of mental health concerns, contributions, and early signs of illness.
- Provide a positive youth development model of care which will employ brief interventions such as: talking therapies (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Motivational Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy)
- Youth coaching and mentoring
- Kaupapa Māori cultural interventions including a focus on positive cultural identity, kapa haka, waiata, whakapapa and Whānau Ora
You | Mōu
You will:
- Hold a Level 4 New Zealand Certificate in Health and Wellbeing (NZCHW) or a recognised equivalent or be studying towards a recognised equivalent.
- Have experience in working with young people and an understanding of trauma-informed care.
- Have both de-escalation skills and relationship building skills.
- Hold a current full New Zealand driver’s
- Hold a current New Zealand first aid certificate or be prepared to obtain one.
- Have knowledge of, and demonstrable commitment to, the principles of the Te Tiriti o Waitangi.
