
Stargazing Tour Guide
Tekapo Star Gazing is seeking an enthusiastic and engaging Stargazing Guide to join our team in the heart of the world-renowned Aoraki Mackenzie International Dark Sky Reserve.
Our unique star gazing tours focus on ensuring our guests feel like they are the only people in the universe experiencing the amazing night sky. Our guides use a mixture of state-of-the-art telescopes, lasers and virtual reality to enhance the guest experience followed by a relaxing soak in our hot pools.
We are looking for an amazing Stargazing guide to join our team on a permanent basis.
We are looking for a keen learner with a passion for astronomy who can remain focused and cares about keeping people safe and entertained. This person would join our existing team of Stargazing Guides entertaining customers during the night.

We are looking for someone with
- A passion for Astronomy with a qualification and or good working knowledge of and interest in Astronomy / Astrophysics
- Ability to work evenings, weekends, and public holidays
- Must be comfortable in addressing groups (up to approx. 40 guests).
- 3+ years experience in Sales, Star Gazing Guiding, Teaching, with strength in group communication, engagement and cross / upselling.
- Photography knowledge in particualr for atrophotography and related technologies
- Natural entertainer with great people skills and commitment to ensuring a unique and unforgettable guest experience.
- A high level of fluency in English and ideally a second language (Mandarin / Japanese / French / German).
