  • Collaborate with the Private Enterprise compliance team to support New Zealand’s privately-owned businesses in meeting their goals.
  • Assist in preparing annual accounts and tax returns, or monthly management work, initially focusing on smaller and more straightforward clients (including data entry, spreadsheet work, drafting accounts, etc.).
  • Respond to client queries and support the compliance team in managing client relationships concerning income tax, GST, and other indirect taxes.
  • Attend in-house or external training to enhance your knowledge and proficiency in using professional accounting software.
  • Apply your learning directly to practical challenges, gaining hands-on experience.
  • Provide insightful financial solutions and advice to help businesses thrive.
  • Balance your work commitments with part-time study as you progress toward becoming a Chartered Accountant.
  • Embrace opportunities for professional development and career advancement within the firm.
  • Assist other team members with administrative tasks as needed.

  • A recent high school graduate or first-year student pursuing Accounting at a university, tertiary institution, or through the CAANZ CA Fundamentals pathway, with plans to obtain a Chartered Accountant (CA) professional qualification upon completion of their studies.
  • Passionate about working with small to medium-sized firms across Aotearoa to help drive our purpose of #FuellingNewZealandsProsperity.
  • Excited to gain real hands-on experience in accounting that will complement their academic studies.
  • Eager to seize the opportunity to advance their career at a leading international firm.

  • A permanent, full-time role with base office hours of 37.5 hours per week.
  • This is a paid position to support yourself whilst studying.
  • Flexibility to use up to 7.5 hours of unpaid study leave per week to attend your tertiary classes and paid study leave to prepare for exams and internal assessments
  • Flexible part-time study options, allowing you to balance work, study, and social commitments, with an extended timeframe to complete your degree.
  • Support, equivalent to the above, for those pursuing a postgraduate CA professional qualification to become a Chartered Accountant.
