We support wellbeing, flexible working and have a generous leave offering. There is the opportunity for growth, learning and career development. No two days are the same.

Mō te Tūranga | About the Role

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced banking professional to join BNZ as a Private Banker, supporting the needs of our high-net-worth clients. This is a relationship-led role where you’ll work closely with some of BNZ’s most valued clients, providing tailored banking solutions that support their personal, business and wealth goals.

What are the key day to day tasks the person in this role will complete?

  • Manage a portfolio of high-net-worth clients, with a focus on maintaining and enhancing client experience, satisfaction and long-term advocacy.

  • Stay closely connected with clients, prospects and market advocates through regular, meaningful conversations that deepen relationships, uncover opportunities and ensure clients continue to receive an exceptional level of service.

  • Provide comprehensive banking solutions across core banking, investments, lending and foreign currency, working with each client to understand their broader financial needs and goals. You’ll also provide guidance on investment options and collaborate closely with internal specialists and networks to deliver the best possible outcomes for clients.

  • Develop and maintain a strong network of market advocates and referral sources, while identifying and nurturing potential business acquisition opportunities.

What attributes will this person display in order to be successful in this role?

We’re looking for someone with proven banking experience, who can demonstrate success in providing tailored banking solutions and building strong, trusted customer relationships.

You’ll be commercially astute, naturally curious and confident working in a competitive, relationship-driven market. A strong understanding of industry trends, networking and the importance of connecting people will be key to your success. Ideally, you’ll have experience working with high-net-worth customers, however we’re also open to hearing from those who can demonstrate a strong track record in developing meaningful customer relationships and identifying opportunities for growth.

What is the team culture and environment like?

You’ll be joining a high-performing and supportive team of motivated individuals who value collaboration, inclusion and constructive challenge.

The environment is fast-paced, client-focused and commercially driven. You’ll have plenty of autonomy in your role, while also being part of a connected team that shares knowledge, supports each other and works together to deliver exceptional outcomes for clients.

What is the most exciting thing about this opportunity?

The most exciting part of this opportunity is the chance to make a real difference in how high-net-worth clients experience BNZ. You’ll play an important role in elevating our Private Banking proposition, deepening client relationships and helping BNZ continue to step up to the needs of this important client segment.
