
Water Treatment Plant Operator - Whitianga (Relocation Support Available)
We’re looking for an experienced Treatment Plant Operator to service plants in Whitianga, Hahei, Coromandel and Matarangi!
Relocation support may be available.
The role involves:
Operate and maintain water treatment plants to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable performance.
Carry out routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and compliance monitoring to meet all regulatory and contractual requirements.
Conduct sampling, testing, and reporting in line with drinking water standards and resource consent conditions.
Promote a strong Health, Safety, Environmental, and Quality culture, ensuring all work is completed safely and to high standards.
What you’ll need:
2–3 years’ practical experience operating water and/or wastewater treatment plants, or a strong interest in developing your skills in this space.
Hold a New Zealand Certificate in Drinking Water Treatment (Level 4).
Good understanding of resource consent conditions, drinking water standards, and environmental compliance, with a commitment to learning and growth.
Confident with sampling, testing, and reporting processes, and comfortable using digital systems such as SCADA to monitor performance.
Highly organised with great time management and problem-solving skills, and a strong focus on safety and quality.
A supportive team player who values collaboration, inclusion, and continuous improvement.
Full Class 1 driver’s licence and confident driving manual vehicles.
All preferred candidates will be required to complete preemployment checks to the employer’s satisfaction. These checks include but are not limited to, Ministry of Justice criminal conviction report, medical assessment, and drug and alcohol testing.
