Please note: Previous leadership experience within a large-format ("big box") retail environment is essential for this role.
About the Role
This is a full-time position working 40 hours per week, including one weekend day.
As Retail Manager, you'll be responsible for leading your team to deliver outstanding customer service while achieving strong commercial and operational results. No two days are the same – you'll be involved in everything from coaching team members and managing stock flow to driving sales performance and maintaining exceptional store standards.

- Create a customer-first culture and deliver memorable shopping experiences.
- Drive sales, margin, and productivity targets.
- Ensure excellent merchandising, stock availability, and department presentation.
- Plan and coordinate daily and weekly operational activities.
- Manage rostering, recruitment, training, and performance.
- Work collaboratively with the wider leadership team to achieve store goals.
- Champion health and safety across your departments.
- Foster a positive culture built on accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
About You
You'll be an experienced retail leader who enjoys motivating people, achieving results, and making a real impact on the success of the business.
You will bring:
- Proven leadership experience within a large-format retail environment.
- Experience leading medium to large-sized teams.
- Strong commercial acumen and a track record of achieving results.
- Experience managing stock, merchandising, and day-to-day retail operations.
- Confidence in rostering, recruitment, performance management, and team development.
- Excellent communication and coaching skills.
- The ability to think on your feet and stay calm under pressure.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- A commitment to creating a safe and positive workplace.
What's on Offer?
- Competitive remuneration package.
- Genuine opportunities for growth and career development.
- A supportive and collaborative leadership team.
- Ongoing training and development.
- Corporate discounts through Mitre 10's Perks App.
- Birthday Leave, Trauma Insurance, and Bonus Scheme.
- Generous staff purchasing privileges.
- A workplace that genuinely values safety, wellbeing, and team culture.
As part of our commitment to maintaining a safe workplace, the successful applicant will be required to satisfactorily complete a pre-employment drug and alcohol screening and criminal conviction check.
