Jobs by Adzuna

On behalf of our client, we are seeking a vocationally registered General Practitioner to join a specialist telehealth service focused on ADHD medication management and ongoing patient care.

Unlike traditional ADHD assessment roles, this position is centred on the ongoing management of patients who have already received a formal diagnosis and commenced treatment. You will play a key role in supporting patients through their treatment journey, reviewing progress, optimising medication regimens, and ensuring safe, effective long-term care.

Working within a highly structured and supportive model, you'll collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of clinicians and patient support professionals while enjoying the flexibility of a fully remote role.

This is an excellent opportunity for GPs looking to develop expertise within a growing subspecialty area while maintaining excellent work-life balance and clinical autonomy.

How You'll Work

  • Fully remote consultations delivered via a secure telehealth platform
  • Structured appointment schedules with dedicated administrative support
  • Short, focused follow-up consultations typically lasting up to 15 minutes
  • Strong clinical governance framework and prescribing protocols
  • Collaborative multidisciplinary environment with clear escalation pathways
  • Ongoing support from senior clinicians and leadership team
  • This is telehealth designed to maximise clinical efficiency while maintaining high-quality patient care.

Your Clinical Focus

  • Conduct medication review consultations with adult ADHD patients
  • Assess treatment response, symptom improvement, medication adherence, and side effects
  • Monitor clinical parameters including blood pressure and heart rate
  • Adjust medication dosages and treatment plans in accordance with established clinical protocols
  • Manage stimulant prescribing and medication renewals where appropriate
  • Complete electronic prescribing and clinical documentation
  • Provide patient education and ongoing treatment guidance
  • Escalate complex presentations when required through established specialist pathways

About You

  • Vocationally registered General Practitioner with the Medical Council of New Zealand
  • Current Annual Practising Certificate
  • Fellowship of the Royal New Zealand College of General Practitioners (FRNZCGP) or equivalent recognised vocational scope
  • Minimum three years' experience practising as a GP
  • Strong prescribing experience within primary care
  • Comfortable working within structured consultation models and digital health environments
  • Excellent communication and patient engagement skills
  • Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative clinical team
  • Commitment to culturally safe practice and equitable healthcare delivery

Highly Regarded

  • Experience managing adult ADHD
  • Familiarity with stimulant prescribing and Special Authority processes
  • Telehealth or virtual care experience
  • Experience with electronic prescribing systems and digital patient management platforms

What's on Offer

  • Fully remote working arrangement
  • Flexible engagement options including part-time, full-time, and contractor arrangements
  • Structured clinical support and robust governance processes
  • Dedicated administrative and patient support teams
  • Opportunity to develop specialist expertise in a rapidly growing clinical area
  • Strong work-life balance with no traditional general practice workload pressures
  • Long-term career opportunities within an expanding national service
