Sales & Operations Planning Lead
About Halter
At Halter, we’re on a mission to enable farmers and graziers to run the most productive and sustainable operations. Our customers are using Halter to break free from the time-intensive constraints of conventional practices. Imagine watching 500 cattle stand up and walk calmly towards their next break? No quad bikes, no dogs, no fences. Just a group of cattle walking at their own pace. People say it looks like magic. Our customers are revolutionizing grazing with Halter. It's changing lives and transforming an industry. People join Halter to do meaningful work. By joining us you’ll be solving challenging problems within a talented team and a culture built for high performance. Our team out-think, out-work and out-care. We’re committed to delivering real change in the world - this isn’t easy, and in truth, we love that it’s hard.
We’re backed to deliver on a mission that matters by Tier 1 investors including Founders Fund, Bessemer Venture Partners, BOND, DCVC, Blackbird, Promus Ventures, Rocket Lab’s Peter Beck and Icehouse ventures.

About the role:
As Halter scales into multiple hardware products and new geographies, the gap between what we're planning to sell and what we're able to make has real consequences. Getting that balance right, consistently and at speed, is the job of the Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) Lead.
This role owns the S&OP process at Halter: the cadence, the data, the conversations, and the decisions. This is Halter's first dedicated S&OP role, so you'll be building the process from scratch - designing the cadence and tooling just as much as running it, while bringing our commercial and operations teams together to build a shared plan both sides trust.
Who we're looking for:
Design and own the end-to-end S&OP cadence at Halter, from demand review through supply review to executive S&OP.
Facilitate the monthly S&OP cycle, bringing together commercial, forecasting, supply planning, and operations stakeholders and driving the process to a consensus plan.
Identify mismatches between demand and supply early, quantify the impact, and drive the cross-functional conversations needed to resolve them.
Maintain a clear view of inventory and availability across the product portfolio and markets.
Manage planning across Halter's international markets, accounting for different lead times, freight modes, regulatory requirements, and demand patterns by region.
Prepare executive S&OP meetings so leadership can focus on decisions, not data, surfacing key trade-offs with a recommended path.
Track actions and commitments coming out of S&OP and hold teams accountable to them.
Continuously improve the S&OP process as Halter scales, the product portfolio grows, and planning maturity increases.
Build and maintain the reporting and visibility Halter needs to understand its supply health and forecast accuracy - giving leadership a clear, current picture of where the business stands and where the risks are.
What your day could look like:
Solid experience running S&OP or integrated business planning processes in a hardware or manufacturing environment. You've owned the process, not just participated in it.
Experience building or significantly improving an S&OP process, not just inheriting a mature one.
Exceptional facilitation and meeting design skills. You can bring a room of people with competing priorities to a shared plan.
Strong analytical ability. You're comfortable working with complex data sets, building planning models, and stress-testing assumptions.
Commercial and operational fluency. You can talk credibly with a sales leader about demand risk and with a supply planner about lead time exposure.
A bias for action and resolution. You're energised by ambiguity and uncomfortable with unresolved imbalances sitting in the plan.
Low ego and comfortable with discomfort. You lean into hard conversations, raise the awkward thing early, and never shy away from tension when it needs to be resolved. You have strong opinions and hold them loosely, changing your mind fast when someone has a better answer.
Our Benefits:
Delicious snacks and drinks are available for your daily flow.
Healthy body, healthy mind. We're partnered with Southern Cross Health Insurance to support your well-being.
We offer 6 months of fully paid parental leave for primary caregivers, 4 weeks of fully paid secondary caregiver leave and many other parental benefits that support you and your family.
Our personal growth is important. Halter offers an annual $1000 self-development budget to be used for anything that fuels personal growth.
Our time to recharge is valued, we're offered wellness leave and unlimited paid annual leave.
Importantly, we offer an inclusive and attractive remuneration package made up of salary, benefits and an employee stock ownership plan.
Our Office First Approach
Humans are wired for connection. Being office first is a core pillar of our culture because in-person connections drive your growth, learning, impact, and relationships. Strong relationships make it easier to disagree, give feedback, and do meaningful work together.
We're office first, not office only. Working from the office is our default, but we flex when needed. We have a high-trust culture where everyone is trusted to do what's best for Halter.
Our office vibe is special, the high energy and spectacular people make work enjoyable. Your growth and impact are unlimited here, coming from solving problems, innovating, and constantly learning from each other.
