As we continue to grow, we are seeking a skilled and dedicated Painter (Painting Trades Worker) to join our team.
About the Role
As a Painting Trades Worker at Circle Sky Homes, you will apply paint, varnish, and other finishes to protect, maintain, and decorate surfaces of buildings and structures. You will work across a wide variety of residential, commercial, and feature wall projects, bringing precision and pride to every job.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
In accordance with ANZSCO 332211 Painting Trades Worker, your duties will include:
- Erecting scaffolding and ladders, and placing drop sheets to protect adjacent areas from paint splattering
- Preparing surfaces by removing old paint and wallpaper, fixing woodwork, filling holes and cracks, and smoothing and sealing surfaces
- Selecting and preparing paints to required colours by mixing portions of pigment, oil, and thinning and drying additives
- Applying paints, varnishes and stains to surfaces using brushes, rollers and sprays
- Executing interior and exterior painting for residential homes, apartments, offices, and commercial properties
- Completing feature wall work including solid colours, textured finishes, geometric patterns, and decorative murals
- Hanging wallpaper, matching patterns and trimming edges
- Cleaning equipment and work areas
Requirements
- AQF Certificate III including at least two years of on-the-job training, or AQF Certificate IV (ANZSCO Skill Level 3)
- Proven experience as a qualified Painter and Decorator, at least 1 year
- Proficiency in brush, roller, and spray-painting techniques across interior and exterior surfaces
- Experience with surface preparation, colour mixing, and specialty finishes, including feature walls and textured coatings
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to a high-quality, clean finish
- Valid driver's licence, required for travel to project sites across Victoria
- White Card (Construction Induction) — preferred
- Registration or licensing may be required
- At least three years of relevant experience may substitute for the formal qualifications listed above
