Quality Assessor
Te Tūranga | About the role:
As a Quality Assessor at our Pacific site in Hastings, you’ll help ensure that Silver Fern Farms maintains the highest standards of product quality and compliance. You’ll support our processing teams by implementing and monitoring quality systems that meet both customer and regulatory expectations, directly contributing to the delivery of world-class food products. You’ll be joining an established team that take pride in their work.
You will champion our quality initiatives and compliance, and implementation of all regulatory, customer and company standards.
This role operates during the day shift in both our Primary Butchery and Secondary Butchery. Shifts run from 6.30am to 3pm, however you will start earlier than the room.
In this role you will:
- Carry out quality inspections and audits to verify compliance with customer, regulatory and company standards
- Support the implementation and maintenance of quality systems across production areas
- Monitor and report on product and process performance, identifying opportunities for improvement
- Collaborate with Production and Technical teams to ensure consistent application of quality procedures
- Provide feedback, coaching and support to promote a quality-focused culture
Ōu Pūkenga | About You:
- Experience in Quality Assurance, Quality Control or Process Control (ideally within food manufacturing)
- Qualification in Biological Science/ Food Technology an advantage
- Strong attention to detail and documentation skills
- Effective communication and relationship-building abilities
- A proactive, solutions-focused mindset and ability to balance the needs of Production and Quality
- Confidence using data and systems to inform decisions
