Your new opportunity:
Due to growth in our customer base, a full time, permanent position is available for a highly skilled Diesel Technician to join the service team in our modern workshop facility in Tauriko, Tauranga. In this role, you will keep our customers' trucks moving by carrying out a range of service, maintenance and repairs tasks across a wide variety of trucks and trailers. From European to American trucks, no two days are the same - giving you the chance to broaden your expertise and build your career with variety. This is a senior role, so we are looking for applicants who have been working in the industry for some time and who offer strong mechanical and electrical diagnostic skills.
In this role you will:
- Complete scheduled maintenance on customer vehicles.
- Diagnose, repair and overhaul a range of truck components such as engines, transmissions, air systems and chassis.
- Carry out scheduled servicing and pre-COF checks across both our diverse range of premium brands and other OEM brands.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot faults using the latest tools and technology.
- Recondition, overhaul, assemble and rebuild diesel engines.
- Work both independently and collaboratively with a supportive team.
- Ensure all work meets high safety and quality standards.
- Continue learning through technical training and exposure to different truck platforms.
About you:
- Trade qualified as a Diesel Mechanic (NZQA Level 4 equivalent).
- Strong technical background in servicing, maintenance, and repair tasks.
- Experience with a variety of truck makes and models (MAN and/or Western Star exposure would be an advantage).
- Ability to adapt to different systems and work efficiently across diverse vehicles.
- Great teamwork, communication skills, and alignment with the Penske values of Ownership, Passion, Teamwork, Integrity and Care.
- Hold some or all HT licences (support will be given to obtain these for the right applicant)
