
General Practitioner
The Opportunity
On behalf of our client, we are seeking a General Practitioner to join a well-established rural primary care service operating within a community-centred model. This is an opportunity to practise medicine in a setting where continuity of care, strong patient relationships, and cultural responsiveness are central to service delivery.
You will work with a high level of clinical autonomy while being supported by an experienced multidisciplinary team, including GP Fellows and primary care nursing staff. The practice places a strong emphasis on patient engagement, preventative care, and long-term health outcomes, with a genuine connection to the local community.
The clinic operates Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm, with flexible rostering available.

- Support available for Fellowship completion if required
- Key Responsibilities
- Deliver comprehensive, culturally responsive primary care
- Assess, diagnose, and manage acute and long-term conditions
- Build strong, ongoing relationships with patients and whānau
- Contribute to a collaborative, community-driven model of care
About You
- Registered Medical Practitioner with the Medical Council of New Zealand, or eligible for registration
- Current APC or ability to obtain
- Experience in primary care or rural medicine preferred
- Strong clinical judgement with a patient-centred approach
- Comfortable working both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Commitment to equitable health outcomes, particularly within Māori communities
- Interest in ongoing professional development and scope expansion
