Reporting to the Chief Legal Officer and working closely with colleagues across the legal team, you will provide practical, business-focussed advice that enables the business to achieve its objectives while managing legal and regulatory risk. This is a hybrid workplace role.

This is a varied role, with a particular focus on legal escalations arising from our marketplace operations, commercial contracts, regulatory compliance and continuous improvement of legal processes. Key responsibilities

  • Advise internal stakeholders across the UK and Europe on a broad range of commercial, legal and regulatory matters.

  • Manage legal escalations and disputes arising from platform operations, assessing legal and commercial risk and recommending pragmatic solutions.

  • Review and negotiate a range of commercial agreements, including technology, marketing, procurement and supplier contracts.

  • Monitor legislative and regulatory developments across the UK and EU, assess their impact on the business and support implementation of any required changes.

  • Identify legal and regulatory risks arising from day-to-day operations and work with stakeholders to implement appropriate mitigation measures and process improvements.

  • Assist with legal project management and coordination across multiple jurisdictions.

  • Prepare guidance, templates and training materials to improve legal awareness and support compliance across the business.

Job requirements

  • Qualified lawyer and have at least 2 years of experience with a reputable law firm or in-house

  • Fluent in English. Additional European languages would be advantageous but are not essential

  • A true generalist, having advised on a variety of topics with a strong understanding of commercial and privacy laws

  • Excellent communications and negotiation skills

  • Pragmatic and commercial approach to legal matters

  • At ease working in an international environment with multicultural backgrounds

  • Demonstrates initiative and enjoys improving processes and identifying practical solutions to legal and operational issues

  • An interest in legal technology and AI, with a willingness to adopt tools that improve efficiency and scalability

  • Ideally, experience with fast-growing companies, either as an external advisor or in-house counsel

Benefits

  • The salary band for this position ranges from £75,000 - £95,000 (annualized), commensurate with experience and qualifications.

  • Hybrid work environment and home office set-up allowance

  • Temporary work from abroad policy

  • Regular team and social events
