Are you a strategic leader who thrives on driving commercial outcomes, building capability and end to end procurement excellence?

We are seeking a Manager Procurement Business Partnering to lead, mentor and scale our recently centralised procurement hub. Moving away from a purely advisory role you will take full ownership of a large delivery team responsible for executing sourcing strategies, transactional excellence and contract lifecycles across the entire organisation.

This is an exciting and unique role, reporting into the Head of Enterprise Procurement, with scope to deliver meaningful change, lifting the Enterprise Procurement function into a centre of excellence. You’ll bring enthusiasm and drive for automation, simplification and standardisation.

Key responsibilities:

  • Strategic Leadership – lead the strategic direction of the procurement delivery function, and drive change that sees the business partnership model fully embedded.

  • Team leadership and development – lead, coach and resource a large, centralised team of procurement specialists who partner with their respective part of the business.

  • Service Delivery Management – manage the development of annual plans for each delivery team in conjunction with relevant business groups, ensuring resourcing activity meets business demand.

  • Process optimisation – work with the procurement leadership team to standardise workflows, and scale output.

  • Senior stakeholder Manager – act as the senior relationship manager for procurement delivery and the escalation point for major delivery risks and issues.

The appointing salary for this role is $164,705 - $210,000 based on experience. ACC offers a comprehensive benefits package which at present includes an advantageous superannuation scheme (9% contribution) with features like no mandatory employee contribution, optional life and income protection insurance.

About you | Mōu

You will bring:

  • Significant experience (5+ years) leading and developing high-performing procurement, shared services, or centre of excellence teams within large, complex organisations.

  • Extensive procurement leadership experience across strategic sourcing, enterprise procurement, commercial management, contract management, and commercial governance.

  • Strong knowledge and practical application of Government Procurement Rules, Delegated Financial Approvals, conflict of interest management, and public sector procurement practices.

  • Deep expertise in high-volume RFX processes, Whole of Life Cost (WOLC) analysis, and delivering operational excellence through structured delivery pipelines.

  • Exceptional stakeholder management and influencing skills, with the ability to build trusted relationships and drive outcomes at senior leadership level.

  • Proven ability to lead change, scale teams, manage competing workloads, improve processes, and foster a culture of continuous improvement.

  • Strong commercial acumen, critical thinking, and strategic problem-solving capability, coupled with a collaborative leadership style that promotes engagement, accountability, and high performance.

  • You must hold New Zealand work rights at the time of application.
