Finance Assistant & AP - FTC
We’re Making Travel Effortless. Join Us.
Travel is essential, whether it’s visiting family, starting a new adventure, or taking a career defining trip. Yet today, over 4 billion airline passengers rely on tech that hasn't changed in decades.
At Duffel, we’re rebuilding the infrastructure underpinning the global travel industry. Backed by top-tier investors (Benchmark, Blossom, Index Ventures, and Kima Ventures) and born out of Y Combinator (S18), we’re simplifying complex systems to build the future of travel.
Finance at Duffel
We are a fast-paced Finance team managing all end-to-end financial activities for the Duffel Group across 6 reporting entities in 4 global regions.
This is an incredible opportunity for anyone looking to jump into a diverse role, accelerate their learning, build new systems, and join us on an exciting growth journey. You’ll have total ownership over specific areas of financial operations, driving process improvements and exercising sharp business judgment along the way. If you’re eager to learn quickly through a broad range of hands-on responsibilities, this is the role for you.
The Role: Accounts Payable & Finance Assistant
As our Accounts Payable & Finance Specialist, you will take full charge of managing our end-to-end AP processes across multiple entities and currencies, safeguarding the accuracy and integrity of our financial records.
Working closely with the finance team and internal stakeholders, you'll maintain streamlined workflows, support month-end close, and proactively resolve discrepancies as they arise. This role is crucial to keeping our financial data reliable and audit-ready, giving you direct exposure to the full breadth of a fast-moving, scaling finance function.
What You’ll Be Doing:
End-to-End Ownership: Run full-cycle Accounts Payable, ledger management, and employee expenses (Pleo & Brex).
Multi-Currency Ops: Manage international payment runs and bank/credit card reconciliations across EUR, GBP, USD, and AUD.
Month-End & Year-End Impact: Support monthly management accounts through GL postings, journals, and supplier/airline reconciliations. Participate in supporting our annual audit processes.
Build for Scale: Identify bottlenecks and help automate, streamline, and optimize our financial processes.
Collaborate: Partner across teams for internal queries, special projects, and audit deliverables.
What We’re Looking For:
The Foundation: A degree in Accounting/Finance, plus an active or complete qualification (ACA, CIMA, or ACCA).
The Experience: Hands on background managing end-to-end AP processes and contributing to month-end closes in a dynamic setting.
The Tech Toolkit: Strong grasp of financial statements (P&L, BS, Cash Flow), multi-currency reconciliations, and tools like NetSuite and Excel.
The Mindset: Analytical, insanely detail-oriented, and driven by a desire to automate manual tasks.
The Energy: Clear communication, a hands-on work ethic, and a genuine desire to learn and grow.
