About the Role

Are you a natural connector who thrives on building relationships and creating real opportunities for young people? As a Recruitment Partner in our Community Job Coaching programme, you’ll play a pivotal role in helping 18–24‑year‑old participants move into suitable, sustainable employment, transition off benefits and remain engaged in work long term.

This is your chance to make a genuine impact across the Auckland Central/East labour market, working alongside employers, Community Job Coaches, training providers and community partners to create employment pathways that align with participant goals, Individual Employment Plans and MSD outcome requirements.

You’ll be the bridge between motivated young jobseekers and inclusive employers. By understanding workforce needs, identifying strengths, and matching participants to suitable roles, you’ll directly contribute to key MSD employment milestones at 1, 6 and 12 months after placement. This role blends recruitment, employer engagement, youth support and community partnership building — perfect for someone who loves people, thrives on targets, and is energised by seeing young people succeed.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Employer partnerships — build strong relationships with employers, training providers and community organisations to create suitable employment and upskilling pathways
• Reverse marketing — promote participants to employers based on strengths, goals and labour market needs.
• Inclusive hiring promotion — champion diversity and employer engagement aligned with MSD outcomes.
• Participant alignment — work closely with Community Job Coaches to match opportunities to Individual Employment Plans.
• Community engagement — represent BUSY at events and build networks that strengthen employment pathways.
• Customised employment — conduct task analysis, job carving and workplace matching for sustainable outcomes.
• Workplace assessments — ensure job fit, identify support needs and strengthen retention.
• Cultural competence — tailor communication and support to diverse backgrounds.
• Outcome achievement — convert employer leads into suitable employment placements that support participants to transition off benefit and achieve MSD milestone outcomes.
• Accurate reporting — maintain compliant records, evidence and monthly reporting.
• Retention support — stay connected with participants and employers to support post-placement retention for up to 12 months after participants move into employment

Skills And Experiences

What You’ll Bring

• Experience in employment services, youth work, recruitment, business development or community engagement
• Strong relationship‑building skills and confidence engaging with employers
• Ability to motivate young people and support them through barriers
• Understanding of MSD employment services, benefit obligations, off-benefit outcomes and milestone tracking
• Organised, proactive and able to manage multiple priorities
• Strong communication, cultural competence and ethical practice
• Digital proficiency and attention to detail
• A positive, self‑driven approach and commitment to continuous improvement
• Flexibility to work across multiple sites
• A relevant qualification in employment, youth, community, social services, recruitment or a related field is desirable, but equivalent experience will also be considered
