We’re looking for an experienced Cost Controller to join Fulton Hogan and help drive Good Work on our projects. Reporting to the Project Controls Manager, you’ll work closely with project teams to manage cost control, forecasting, risk, and month end reporting so projects stay on track and well informed.

This is a role for someone who knows how to balance detail with delivery. You’ll support the tools, processes, and reporting that help projects perform, while keeping communication open, standards high, and improvement moving forward. We take the work seriously, not ourselves, and you’ll be part of a team that backs good ideas, low ego teamwork, and high quality outcomes.

  • Support project cost control, analysis, forecasting, cashflow forecasting, and month end reporting processes.

  • Manage change control activities including recording, analysing, and documenting variations, trends, and project close-out information.

  • Assist with project risk management, including risk documentation, delay claim support, and contingency development where needed.

  • Coach and support team members in the use of cost management systems, reporting tools, and project processes.

  • Champion safe, compliant, and high-quality ways of working, while contributing to continuous improvement across project reporting and controls.

  • 5 to 10 years’ experience in civil contracting, quantity surveying, or a similar project environment.

  • Strong cost management capability, with intermediate to advanced knowledge of CCS, JDE or similar systems, and Excel.

  • Good understanding of construction delivery, including cost, time, procurement, risk management, and reading drawings and associated documents.

  • A confident, collaborative communication style, with the ability to build strong working relationships across project teams, finance, and estimating.

  • A proactive, detail-focused approach, with sound time management, a strong safety mindset, and a genuine willingness to learn, lead, and improve.

  • KiwiSaver employer contributions after service milestones, up to 7%.

  • Parental leave top up payment with additional return to work support.

  • Ongoing training and development, with clear career growth and progression opportunities.

  • Great discounts at a wide range of retailers.

Ko wai mātou | About us

At Fulton Hogan, our values drive everything we do: Respect, Energy & Effort, Attitude, and Leadership. We know our people are the reason we succeed. You’re not a number here. You’re part of the team that helps us deliver Good Work every day.

That means less hierarchy, more teamwork, and the chance to make a real impact. We back our people to bring ideas, take ownership, and keep growing. The work is serious when it counts, but the environment is human, supportive, and down to earth.

Me pēhea te tono | How to apply

If you’re an experienced Cost Controller who values safety, takes pride in doing good work, and wants to be part of a team that works hard, backs each other, and has a bit of fun along the way, we’d love to hear from you.
