You will provide safe, respectful, and person‑centred support, being mindful of what matters to them, including their culture, values, beliefs, routines, and boundaries.

We have a range of shifts across a 24/7 roster (including sleepovers), so you can choose hours that suit your lifestyle while doing work that truly matters, with others in your team this can offer mutually beneficial flexibility.

  • Personal care and daily routines (morning and evening)
  • Mobility support, transfers, and safe use of hoists (as trained)
  • Passive exercises and positioning to support comfort and wellbeing
  • Meal preparation and nutritional support
  • Community outings, companionship, and supporting social connection
Mōhou Ake | About You
The skills and experience listed below may be required depending on the specific client needs you are matched to
  • A warm, patient, and genuinely caring approach
  • Hold a Level 3 or Level 4 Health and Wellbeing qualification or have equivalent, relevant experience
  • Experience supporting spinal cord injury and bowel management/manual bowel care
  • Confident and safe with working with hoists
  • Comfortable supporting more complex needs and following care plans
  • Be willing to learn, reflect, and adapt your approach to what matters for each person
  • Have experience in or exposure to caregiving, disability support, aged care, community work, or other people‑facing roles
  • Committed to culturally safe, respectful support for people from all backgrounds
  • Restricted or full driver’s licence
  • The right to work in New Zealand
Whakangungu | Training

Our Kaiāwhina Skills Framework training takes place during your first two–four weeks of employment and builds on your current experience to provide care to our valued clients the Access way. We provide year-round training with regular refreshers and new modules to keep your skills up to date. You’ll be supported through structured induction, ongoing training, refreshers, and clear development pathways.

Some client needs require Support Workers who hold a Level 3 or Level 4 Health and Wellbeing qualification to ensure safe and appropriate care. We support equitable recruitment by recognising transferable experience and, where appropriate, providing training pathways to build and maintain Level 3–4 capability. Support Workers are matched to client needs based on skills, experience, and qualifications.
