Electrical Fitter

About the Role
We're looking for an experienced Electrical Fitter to join our Auckland Maintenance team and help keep Auckland's power network running safely and reliably.
Working in a substation environment, you'll carry out maintenance, fault finding, switching, outage planning, and electrical fitting activities across high-voltage equipment. This role operates on a rotating roster of day and night shifts, with occasional weekend work required to support planned outages and network operations.

You'll be involved in:
- Maintaining and servicing HV electrical equipment in substations
- Carrying out electrical fitting work to industry and regulatory standards
- Performing HV and LV network switching activities
- Planning and coordinating outages to meet client requirements
- Troubleshooting faults and resolving network issues
- Completing accurate records, reporting, and documentation
- Working closely with Control, Dispatch, customers, contractors, and internal teams
- Supporting a strong safety culture and continuous improvement initiatives

About You
You're motivated and safety-conscious and takes pride in doing the job right. You enjoy working as part of a team, communicating with a wide range of people, and providing a great service every day.

You'll bring:
- Fully Registered NZ Electrician
- Current EWRB Practising Licence
- Electrical Fitter experience
- Network switching experience
- Full Class 1 New Zealand Driver's Licence
- Experience working in substations or HV electrical environments
- Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills
- A proactive approach to problem-solving
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team
- A professional and respectful approach when dealing with customers and members of the public
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality workmanship
- A genuine commitment to health, safety, and environmental standards
