Senior Software Engineer
About EROAD
EROAD is a technology company delivering intelligent transport solutions that improve safety, productivity, and sustainability across the world. We partner with customers to solve complex challenges through connected hardware, powerful software, and actionable insights.
At EROAD, our people are at the heart of what we do. We foster a collaborative, growth-focused environment where you can make a real impact while continuing to develop your career.
About the role
We're looking for a Senior Software Engineer who wants to do more than deliver features. At this level, you're helping shape how software gets built. You design reliable systems, influence technical direction, use AI as a core part of your workflow, and help other engineers grow through your example.
This is a role for someone who is technically strong, pragmatic, and excited about engineering in an AI-native environment.
What you'll be doing
Architecture and system design
You'll help design and deliver significant features and services, balancing scalability, security, operational readiness, and long-term maintainability while making sound technical decisions.
AI-native delivery
AI tools are a core part of how we work. You'll use them to accelerate delivery, guide complex engineering tasks, and critically review outputs before they reach production.
Quality and engineering excellence
You'll maintain a high technical bar through thoughtful code reviews, strong testing practices, and a focus on building reliable, production-ready software.
Mentoring and technical leadership
Senior Engineers at EROAD lift the capability of those around them. You'll share knowledge, provide constructive feedback, and help develop strong engineering judgement across the team.
Continuous improvement
You'll evaluate emerging technologies, tools, and AI workflows, helping the team adopt innovations that deliver real value while avoiding unnecessary complexity.
What you'll bring
Strong experience with:
- C# development in complex production environments
- AWS or Azure cloud-native development
- Microservices and event-driven architectures
- RESTful API design and development
- MongoDB, PostgreSQL, SQL Server, or similar technologies
- Test automation across multiple levels
- CI/CD pipelines and modern software delivery practices
- Monitoring, observability, and production support
- Using AI-assisted development tools with appropriate review and verification
Bonus points for
- Agentic AI workflows and orchestration techniques
- JavaScript and React development
- Kubernetes and Terraform
- Android development
- GIS, payments, telematics, or high-throughput systems
