
Cattery Assistant - Glen Innes

Animates Vetcare is looking for a Casual Cattery Assistant to join our passionate team. This is an exciting opportunity for an animal lover who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and is committed to delivering exceptional care to every pet that stays with us.
About the role:
As a Cattery Assistant, you will play an important role in ensuring our feline guests receive the highest standard of care during their stay. You'll help maintain a safe, clean, and comfortable environment while supporting the Vetcare team during busy periods throughout the year.
Key responsibilities:
- Feeding and providing fresh water to cats in our care.
- Cleaning cattery facilities, cat condos, and litter trays to a high standard.
- Assisting with cat exercise and enrichment routines.
- Monitoring cat health and wellbeing and alerting the clinical team to any concerns.
- Maintaining excellent hygiene and housekeeping standards throughout the day.
- Following health, safety, and animal welfare protocols at all times.
- Working collaboratively with Vet Nurses and the wider Vetcare team.
- Providing a positive experience for both pets and their owners.
About You:
We're looking for someone who:
- Has experience handling cats.
- Has a genuine passion for animal welfare.
- Is friendly, reliable, and enjoys working with people.
- Works well as part of a team.
- Has strong communication skills.
- Can remain calm and attentive when caring for animals.
- Has customer service experience (preferred).
- Has animal care experience (preferred but not essential).
- Is available to work flexible shifts, including weekends and public holidays.
