Our friendly Payroll team are seeking a Team Leader - Payroll.

The hours of work for this position are 8:00am - 5:00pm Monday - Friday.

Key responsibilities for this role include:

  • Leading and delivering fortnightly pay to all organisations supported, managing payroll data processing and determining integrity of processed data including internal checks.
  • Responding to complex queries from employees and the business, providing solutions and assistance to the Payroll and People and Culture teams
  • Evaluating payroll processes and system requirements to ensure compliance with contractual and legislative obligations within system restrictions at all times.
  • Reconciling and processing IRD Payments and adjustments ensuring that IRD deadlines are met.
  • Meeting the reporting requirements of the organisation, Audit NZ and other external organisations within required timeframes

What you will bring:

  • Applied Payroll (Level 5) or significant relevant experience
  • NZPPA Certificate in Payroll Calculations (Level 5)
  • Five years' comprehensive experience at a leadership level, in a pressured payroll environment
  • Extensive experience working with various disciplines on a payroll system with sound knowledge of New Zealand payroll legislation including Holidays Act 2003, keeping up to date with legislative changes
  • Sound Customer Service ethos including the ability to manage difficult or emotional situations
  • Ability to take direction and work collaboratively with senior management
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities to ensure reporting requirements of management, Audit NZ and other external organisations are met within required deadlines.
