Te Tūranga – About the role
We're looking for a commercially focused Senior Financial Analyst to help drive performance across our retail network. This role partners closely with Retail, Operations, Finance leaders and Store owners to deliver actionable insights that improve sales, profitability and overall store performance.
This is a hands-on commercial finance role where you'll work alongside Retail teams to understand performance drivers, identify opportunities, and support decision-making across our banners. You'll play a key role in translating financial results into practical actions that help stores trade more effectively and deliver stronger outcomes.
What you’ll be doing
- Drive insight across store and banner performance, identifying trends, risks and opportunities in sales, margin and profitability.
- Partner with Retail and Operations teams to influence commercial decisions and improve performance outcomes.
- Support trading reviews and performance discussions, helping stakeholders understand key drivers of results.
- Identify opportunities to improve store execution, operational efficiency and financial performance.
- Deliver forecasting, budgeting and scenario modelling to support retail decision-making.
- Provide clear, actionable insights that focus on future performance, not just reporting results.
- Build strong relationships across Retail, Operations and Finance teams to support the delivery of strategic initiatives.

You'll be a commercially minded finance professional who enjoys partnering with stakeholders, turning data into insight, and helping drive better business decisions in a fast-paced retail environment. You'll likely bring:
- Proven commercial finance experience within retail, FMCG or other large, complex organisations
- Strong expertise in forecasting, business planning, performance analysis and decision support
- Advanced financial modelling skills and the ability to turn complex data into clear, actionable insights
- A strong understanding of the commercial drivers of sales, margin, labour and profitability
- Advanced Excel skills and experience with tools such as SAP, TM1 and Power BI
- Experience partnering with stakeholders to support commercial decision-making
- A continuous improvement mindset, with an interest in technology, automation and AI to drive better business outcomes
