Salary Range: $202,491 - $272,358 + KiwiSaver Lead the stewardship and evolution of MBIE’s organisational strategy, ensuring it provides a clear and future-focused framework for decision-making, prioritisation, and the delivery of strategic and operational outcomes. About the Role - Tēnei tūranga: You will lead a high-performing function responsible for organisational strategy, enterprise performance, reporting and governance. Working closely with MBIE's Senior Leadership Team and key stakeholders across the Ministry, you will help shape strategic choices, drive organisational alignment, and ensure MBIE delivers public value for Aotearoa New Zealand. In this role, you will: * Lead the development, implementation and ongoing evolution of MBIE's organisational strategy and enterprise performance framework. * Provide trusted, high-quality strategic advice to senior leaders on priorities, trade-offs, organisational performance and strategic direction. * Oversee the development of key accountability documents, including the Statement of Intent and other strategic planning products. * Lead enterprise reporting and governance functions, ensuring decision-makers have timely insights, effective governance support and clear performance information. * Build and lead a high-performing team while fostering collaboration across MBIE and with external stakeholders. Ngā pukenga me ngā wheako e hiahiatia ana - Skills and Experience Required * Significant senior leadership experience in organisational strategy, performance, governance or a related field. * Deep understanding of strategic management, organisational planning, public sector stewardship and governance frameworks. * Proven success advising executive leaders and influencing decision-making on complex enterprise-wide issues. * Experience developing and implementing performance frameworks, measures and reporting approaches. * Exceptional relationship management, stakeholder engagement and influencing skills. * Strong understanding of public sector accountability requirements, machinery of government and strategic planning processes. * Demonstrated ability to lead high-performing teams through complexity and change. * Tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline and/or equivalent experience. * The ability to obtain and maintain the required national security clearance. * The legal right to live and work in New Zealand.
