We are seeking an experienced and proactive Information Management & Digital Improvement lead to join our Corporate Services team. This newly focused role will champion best-practice information management, support the implementation and ongoing enhancement of our Electronic Content Management System (ECMS), and lead continuous improvement initiatives that strengthen how we manage information across Council.

Working closely with stakeholders throughout the organisation, you will play a key role in ensuring our information management systems, processes, and practices are efficient, compliant, customer-focused, and future-ready.

The Opportunity | Te Whai Wāhitanga
This role offers a unique mix of:

  • Lead and support the ongoing implementation and enhancement of Council's SharePoint-based information management system and ECMS.
  • Champion best-practice information management across the organisation.
  • Develop, review, and maintain information management policies, standards, classifications, and procedures.
  • Maintain and continuously improve Council's retention and disposal authority framework, classification structures, and metadata schema.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to leaders and staff on information management best practice and compliance requirements.

What You'll Bring | Ō Pūkenga me Ō Wheako
We are looking for someone with the following:

Essential:

  • Experience developing and delivering information management services within an organisation.
  • Sound understanding of records and information management legislation, particularly the Public Records Act 2005, LGOIMA, and privacy obligations.
  • Administrative knowledge and experience with Electronic Content Management Systems (ECMS), Electronic Document and Records Management Systems (EDRMS), or SharePoint environments.
  • Demonstrated experience leading continuous improvement initiatives and business process improvements.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Desirable:

  • Experience working within local government or the public sector.
  • Knowledge of privacy management and information governance frameworks.
  • Experience facilitating workshops and engaging with diverse stakeholder groups.
