Jobs by Adzuna

Fullers360 has been connecting Aucklanders and visitors to the Hauraki Gulf for over 40 years. With a team of 350+ and a fleet of high-speed ferries and modern buses, we proudly serve nearly 6 million passengers a year—getting commuters to work and visitors to explore.

Our Waiheke Bus Company introduced Auckland’s first electric bus fleet, and we’re proud to be project managing the build of Auckland’s first hybrid-electric fast ferries. Sustainability, community, and a down-to-earth culture are at the heart of everything we do.

About the role

This is a hands‑on, fast‑paced role based at Queens Wharf, working as part of a small, tight‑knit operations team. This is a permanent full‑time opportunity and an excellent entry point into a department which has an immediate and tangible commercial impact.

As a Shore Services Assistant, you’ll play a key role in keeping our fleet operating efficiently. You’ll support vessels with freight, stock, and essential services, ensuring everything is in the right place, at the right time. This role suits someone who enjoys taking ownership, working to deadlines, and understanding how their work impacts the daily operations and the financial performance of the business.

This is a permanent full-time opportunity.

What you’ll be doing

  • Managing food and beverage stock across the fleet, including ordering, restocking, organisation, and stock control.
  • Maintaining organised, efficient storage areas that support smooth daily operations.
  • Communicating closely with logistics, operations and vessel crews to support scheduling, demand changes, and service requirements.
  • Coordinating freight to and from Waiheke, including physical handling, deliveries, and prioritisation of urgent requirements.
  • Refuelling vessels and supporting pump‑out scheduling to meet operational timelines.
  • Handling lost property and responding to customer enquiries with professionalism.
  • Supporting uniform distribution and general administration tasks.

This is a varied and active role with a strong mix of physical work, coordination, and problem‑solving. You’ll be on your feet, working both indoors and outdoors, in an environment where accuracy, efficiency, and reliability matter.

Hours of work

  • Rotating roster including weekends and public holidays
  • Permanent full-time
  • 120 hours over a 3-week period (average of 40 hours per week)
  • Shifts start between 4:30am and 9:00am

About you

  • Switched-on and organised with strong time management skills and a sense of urgency.
  • Takes pride in running things efficiently and spotting opportunities to improve how work is done.
  • F&B commercial acumen, with attention to par levels, sell-through rates and wastage.
  • Strong communication skills, both inter-department and customer-facing.
  • Comfortable working in a fast‑paced, operational environment where priorities can change.
  • Physically fit and confident lifting and moving stock.
  • Enjoys a mix of practical work and coordination responsibilities.
  • Reliable and flexible, able to work a rotating roster including early starts, weekends, and public holidays.
  • Looking for structured shifts, consistent hours, and no late nights or split shifts.
  • Experience in freight, warehousing, stock handling, or logistics is beneficial but not essential.

What you'll get

  • A supportive, close‑knit team environment.
  • Be part of an industry-leading company with vast opportunities for growth.
  • A role that keeps you active, engaged, and involved in daily decision‑making.
  • First‑hand exposure to the operational side of Auckland’s ferry network.
  • A stable role with consistent hours and opportunities to build skills in operations and logistics.

About our benefits and perks (T&C's apply)

  • Free ferry travel for work and personal use (full-time permanent employees)
  • Discounted food and beverages, including free hot drinks during your shift
  • Access to discounted gym memberships (via Auckland Council) and healthcare (Southern Cross)
