CNC Programmer & Operator Job | Press Brake & Roller | Christchurch

We are looking for an experienced CNC Programmer & Operator to join our team.

The RoleReporting to the Production Manager, you will be responsible for programming, machine setup, operation and quality control across CNC rolling and press brake functions.
Key responsibilities include:
  • Program, set up and operate the Sahinler 4R HSS CNC Roller and Dener Puma XL CNC Press Brake
  • Create, modify and optimise CNC programs to maximise efficiency and accuracy
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings and manufacturing specifications
  • Select tooling, dies and machine settings for production runs
  • Complete first-off inspections and quality checks
  • Troubleshoot programming, tooling and machine issues
  • Monitor production output and maintain quality standards
  • Perform routine preventative maintenance and daily machine checks
  • Maintain accurate production and quality records
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across the workshop

What We're Looking For
  • Proven experience as a CNC Programmer and Operator
  • Experience operating CNC press brakes and CNC rolling equipment
  • Strong CNC programming, setup and troubleshooting capability
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
  • Experience with tooling selection and machine setup
  • High attention to detail and commitment to quality
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing tolerances and inspection processes
  • Competent using measuring equipment including verniers, calipers and angle gauges
  • Sound mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Desirable:
  • Forklift licence
  • Experience in fabrication or sheet metal manufacturing
  • Experience with 5S or continuous improvement practices
  • HGV Truck & Trailer licence with DG endorsement
