We believe that by nurturing and harnessing the collective brilliance of our people, we can drive innovation, foster an uncommon work culture, and make a positive difference to society.</p> <p>Embracing the complete range of skills and services across the communications spectrum without constraint, we create the best outcomes for our clients and deliver world-class work.</p></div><p>We are looking for a driven Senior Consultant (Senior Account Manager equivalent) to join our dynamic and agile Advocacy team.</p> <p>They will advise Hanover's public affairs clients on the latest political and policy agendas providing high-quality advice together with a creative contribution towards new business activity including acquisition, development and pitching.</p> <p>This role offers the opportunity to project manage flagship accounts, develop lasting client relationships and play a central role in business development.</p> <p>The successful candidate will join our award-winning, market-leading, public affairs practice, working with over twenty political specialists to advise some of the world's biggest brands on UK political and regulatory issues.</p> <p>Our consultants work in a fast-paced, rapidly evolving environment, and are equally in the office, at a pitch or at a networking event. We also enjoy being an extension of our clients' in-house teams.</p> <p>Our clients include Meta, Trainline, Paramount, FSCS and Valero.</p> <p><strong>PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Provide timely and relevant tactical advice to clients on engagement opportunities, policy, and the mechanics of the political process.</li> <li>Draft and review briefing notes for and about UK political stakeholders and policy issues, contributing strategic insight to monitoring reports and briefings.</li> <li>Conduct stakeholder mapping interviews, evaluate findings and draft reports with clear tactical recommendations.</li> <li>Build and maintain effective working relationships with relevant Parliamentary representatives, journalists, stakeholders, clients and other team members.</li> <li>Identify and advise clients on the most effective way to approach and engage with key target stakeholder groups.</li> <li>Attend and support meetings between clients and political stakeholders, ensuring delivery of follow-up actions are clear and timely.</li> <li>Develop concepts for and supervise the delivery of stakeholder events.</li> <li>Prepare and review submissions in response to consultations from Government and other key stakeholders.</li> <li>Maintain a strong focus on quality, rigorously reviewing communications, reports and client deliverables to ensure accuracy and professionalism.</li> <li>Maintain regular client contact, including attending and contributing to client meetings and, where appropriate, leading on internal account meetings.</li> <li>Provide strong project management support across multiple accounts, assigning actions, keeping work on deadline and ensuring agendas and action notes are completed in a timely manner.</li> <li>Support and mentor Interns, Account Executives and Senior Account Executives by providing guidance to improve quality of work and overall efficiency.</li> <li>Contribute creatively towards new business pitches and lead on brainstorms with the wider team.</li> <li>Identify prospective clients or new work streams from existing clients to create cross-sell opportunities and secure new income fees.</li> <li>Demonstrate a developing new business and political network that can provide opportunities and intelligence for Hanover.</li> </ul> <p><strong>KEY SKILLS &amp; EXPERIENCE</strong></p> <ul> <li>Demonstrable public affairs experience within a Parliamentary office, consultancy or in-house team is essential.</li> <li>Very strong team-working, collaboration and interpersonal skills.</li> <li>Excellent knowledge of UK policy and a passion for politics and current affairs, with a clear understanding of their impact on business objectives.</li> <li>Strong project management skills and excellent attention to detail.</li> <li>Understanding of budgeting, managing pipelines and developing new business opportunities.</li> <li>An appetite to build and expand your network of business, policy or political contacts.</li> <li>Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.</li> <li>An appetite to learn and progress in the industry.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Benefits:</strong></p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>In addition to a competitive salary, your core benefits package will include:</p> <ul> <li>An annual performance-related bonus plus additional bonus potential linked to recruitment, new business and long service</li> <li>25 days’ annual leave (plus bank holidays)</li> <li>Private healthcare and dental insurance</li> <li>Travel insurance</li> <li>A company pension plan, including 5% employer contribution</li> </ul> <p>You’ll also have access to a wide range of opportunities and initiatives, including:</p> <ul> <li>Flexible working policies, plus eligibility to apply for a sabbatical after 2 years’ service</li> <li>Summer Fridays finish (3pm) – early Friday finish the rest of the year (4pm)</li> <li>The Hanover Academy, which incorporates training, coaching, mentoring and reverse-mentoring opportunities to support personal development and career progression across all levels, with a generous training budget</li> <li>International secondments as well as the opportunity to collaborate with all offices across the AVENIR GLOBAL’s network</li> <li>A wellbeing programme, featuring (but not limited to) pre- and post-maternity leave coaching, a working parents’ group, subsidised gym membership</li> <li>Our Culture Club, with a robust social calendar all year round and CSR activity</li> </ul><div class="content-conclusion"><p><strong>Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Statement +&nbsp;</strong></p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>Hanover Communications is an equal opportunities employer, committed to creating and ensuring a fair, inclusive, and diverse work environment where all individuals are treated with respect and dignity.
