Resilience Manager
Life @ AP+:
We are one connected team in pursuit of one inspiring purpose – to unite people and technology to power better experiences. Each of us has a part to play in making that happen. You’ll be encouraged to bring your big ideas forward and make a difference through your work. Taking steps forward in your career whilst still having room for fun, friendships, and flexibility in your daily life.
We’re driven by our core values: lead with heart, learn for tomorrow and live our legacy. A purpose like ours takes the inspired impact of an incredible team. Ready to change the game? We’re ready to help you do it.
The Purpose
As our Resilience Manager, you’ll help strengthen AP+’s ability to prepare for, respond to and recover from disruption. You’ll lead the ongoing maturity of our Business Continuity Management capability, helping ensure we understand our critical services, dependencies and risks, and have practical plans in place to keep the organisation operating when it matters most.
You’ll work across the business to embed resilience into the way we plan, operate and make decisions. From coordinating Business Impact Analyses and critical dependency assessments through to developing and testing continuity, contingency and recovery plans, you’ll help turn resilience from a set of plans and processes into a capability that is understood and owned across AP+.
A key part of the role will be bringing people together to test how we respond under pressure. You’ll design and deliver exercises and simulations, identify lessons and drive remediation so that every test, incident and assurance activity strengthens our preparedness. You’ll also develop meaningful resilience reporting and insights to help leaders understand capability maturity, emerging risks and where further action is needed.
Working closely with business, technology and risk stakeholders, you’ll provide specialist advice, support governance and assurance activities, and help connect Business Continuity with Incident Management, Disaster Recovery and Crisis Management. In doing so, you’ll play an important role in building a more resilient AP+ and supporting the continuity of services that millions of Australians rely on every day.
Key Responsibilities the Role Owns:
- Manage the implementation and continuous improvement of AP+’s Business Continuity Management Framework, aligned to organisational strategy, regulatory expectations and industry practice.
- Coordinate the Business Impact Analysis lifecycle, resilience planning and critical dependency assessments to strengthen organisational preparedness and decision-making.
- Support the development, maintenance and continuous improvement of Continuity, Contingency and Recovery Plans.
- Develop and deliver the annual BCM testing and exercise programme, including desktop exercises, simulations and validation activities.
- Capture lessons from exercises, incidents and assurance activities and drive remediation and continuous improvement.
- Provide specialist resilience advice to business, technology and risk stakeholders and promote clear ownership of resilience obligations.
- Develop and maintain BCM frameworks, tools, procedures and supporting artefacts.
- Develop resilience metrics, dashboards and executive reporting that provide insight into capability maturity, risks, testing outcomes and improvement opportunities.
- Build strong stakeholder relationships and influence outcomes across business and technology teams.
- Manage BCM governance, assurance evidence and audit responses to demonstrate compliance with internal and external requirements.
- Strengthen the integration of Business Continuity, Incident Management, Disaster Recovery and Crisis Management to support coordinated response and recovery.
You’ll likely be a strong fit for this role if:
You’re an experienced resilience, business continuity or operational risk professional who enjoys turning complex risks and dependencies into practical plans, stronger preparedness and better organisational outcomes. You’ll bring experience across Business Continuity Management, operational resilience, crisis management, disaster recovery or related assurance activities, ideally within a complex or highly regulated environment.
You’ll be comfortable working across business and technology stakeholders, providing trusted specialist advice and influencing people to take ownership of resilience outcomes. You’ll have experience coordinating Business Impact Analyses, resilience testing and exercises, developing management information and reporting, and driving improvements from lessons learned, assurance findings and emerging risks. Knowledge of ISO 22301 and experience with resilience management platforms such as ServiceNow BCM will be valuable. Above all, you’ll bring a collaborative, pragmatic and continuous improvement mindset, with the ability to communicate clearly and turn resilience strategy into action.
