Jobs by Adzuna

Chapman Tripp is looking for a Professional Support Lawyer to join our high performing national Property team in an ongoing part-time capacity, working 15 to 20 hours per week.

This role would suit a senior property lawyer who is ready to use their expertise in a different way — influencing quality, consistency and best practice across a busy national practice while staying connected to interesting property work.

You will work closely with our partners, lawyers, legal administrators and wider national teams to provide practical technical support and training across a broad range of property matters.

What you’ll do:

  • Designing, updating and coordinating or delivering property training and regular CPD sessions, including conveyancing training for law clerks, lateral hires and junior lawyers nationally.
  • Providing Landonline use and compliance training and keeping related practice notes and guidance current.
  • Mentoring junior lawyers and acting as a senior sounding board on complex or unusual property issues.
  • Responding to precedent, know-how and information queries from the Property team and other teams across the firm.
  • Drafting new precedents and updating existing precedents and procedure documents to reflect changes in law, procedure and practice.
  • Preparing practical legal and procedural updates for the team.
  • Maintaining the Property team site and reference materials so key resources are current, useful and easy to find.
  • Collaborating with other teams to share relevant property-related knowledge.
  • Supporting practice compliance processes, including Landonline filing guidance, RLWT and bright-line resources, forms, certifications and audit preparation.

What you’ll bring:

  • Strong property law experience, ideally from a commercial law firm environment.
  • Excellent technical legal skills, sound judgement, organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Passion for sharing knowledge, mentoring others and helping teams continuously improve.
  • Ability to turn complex legal and procedural information into practical guidance, precedents, training materials and communications.
  • Collaborative approach and ability to build trusted relationships across teams and offices.
  • Experience with Landonline processes and property practice compliance would be an advantage.

What we offer:

  • Competitive salary and benefits package including healthcare and annual wellbeing allowance
  • Groups and activities to suit your interests: arts & culture, sports, regular team and firm events for connection

We are a collaborative workplace of smart, passionate and hardworking people, united by a commitment to excellence. Work for Aotearoa New Zealand’s largest legal partnership and enjoy a firm which has the resources and structures in place for you to do your best work; as well as people who are caring, inclusive and authentic.
