Ellipsis is emerging as a market leader in “GEO” for B2B technology companies. This is a high-impact, varied role in a fast-moving and ambitious agency.

The transition to AI search has put a lot of the SEO industry on the back foot. Ellipsis has always been consultative/strategic in our approach; we started building AI search products in 2021 on GPT-2, and thus this has been a time for us to thrive.

Today, we think we have a better understanding of AI search than almost anyone else. We have both the tracking product (built in-house), the data (~25 million AI answers for analysis, with more tracked weekly), and the execution end-to-end from strategy, to writing, to in-house design, to optimization, and performance reporting.

As our newest Content Manager, you will be the engineer who ensures the content production machine runs optimally. You’ll be the primary point of contact and own end-to-end delivery of content deliverables for your own portfolio of clients. This means ultimate responsibility for ensuring that every piece of content is delivered on time, on brief, and meets our high bar for quality.

We have an increasingly varied (and growing) portfolio of clients and are looking for an experienced project manager to maintain -- and improve upon -- our high delivery standards. It is an exciting time to join us.

What you’ll do

The Content Manager role is varied, fast-paced, and requires a high level of organizational capability. You’ll be responsible for a mixture of big-picture client, project and account management (~70% of your time) and in-the-weeds production work (~30% of your time), giving you a uniquely rounded perspective on each of your client accounts.

The heart of the role is in client and project management -- you’ll be the main point of contact for a portfolio of clients, and shoulder much of the responsibility for managing these client relationships, keeping delivery on track, and ensuring quality remains high.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills are central to being an effective Content Manager. You’ll regularly communicate directly with clients via Slack, email, and Trello, and lead fortnightly or monthly check-in meetings, often with multiple stakeholders. You’ll need to be confident preparing for these, presenting to clients, and handling questions or concerns appropriately live on calls.

Organization, critical thinking, and an eye for detail are all equally critical. Our Content Managers are ultimately responsible for ensuring that every deliverable for each of their clients is delivered on time, does its intended job, and measures up to both our high internal standards and individual client requirements:

On time

We produce a high volume of content at Ellipsis, and we do so quickly! You’ll need to be adept at prioritizing different task types across your client portfolio, coordinating with our in-house Writing and Strategy teams to ensure dependencies are met when scheduling tasks, and proactive in reorganising your (and others’) workloads according to internal and external factors. You’ll be relentless in driving work forward and comfortable with chasing both clients and internal team members to keep delivery on track.

On brief

As a Content Manager, you’ll hold a holistic view of your client accounts. You’ll understand your clients’ priorities and goals, how our content strategy ties into them, and how each deliverable feeds into that strategy. You’ll have ultimate responsibility for understanding the intended job of each piece of content, properly briefing the Writing team before they start work, and ensuring that each finished article or page meets the requirements of the brief before it goes to the client.

In practice, this means you’ll:

  • Work closely with our Strategy team to ensure our recommended programme of work matches the client’s needs.
  • Produce high-quality content outlines (briefs) for the writing team before they start work.
  • Own the final quality check of each content piece prior to delivery.

Up to standard

We take content quality very seriously at Ellipsis. As a Content Manager, the buck stops with you on quality -- you’ll need to maintain meticulous editorial standards across your clients’ content, and ensure that each piece:

  • Is optimized according to our (constantly evolving) AI optimization thesis.
  • Meets individual client voice, messaging, and style guidelines.
  • Is user-friendly and visually engaging when published on the client’s site.

You’ll need to be obsessive with keeping client requirements updated internally, abreast of the latest changes to our optimization thesis, and confident speaking up or pushing back when a piece of content needs more work.

At Ellipsis, we pride ourselves on continuous improvement. As a Content Manager, you’ll be right at the heart of many of our core processes, and will have the opportunity to have a significant impact in shaping and improving our workflows as we continue to grow and develop the team. If you’re obsessed with -- and skilled in -- keeping things organized, improving efficiency, and solving problems, this could be a dream role for you.

We’re looking for a highly organized project manager, adept at managing both client and internal relationships. We’d expect at least 3-4 years of experience in a project management, client/account management, or similar role. Beyond this, a meticulous eye for quality, an ability to identify problems or blockers, and a proactive approach to solving them are hard requirements.

You’ll need to be confident in getting up to speed fast on unfamiliar B2B and SaaS topics and ensuring that each piece of content we ship is compelling, user-friendly, and optimized for AI and legacy search. A working understanding of GEO would be an advantage, but what we’re really looking for is somebody with an eagerness to learn and the ability to do so quickly.

Strong critical thinking is a must-have at Ellipsis! If a deliverable doesn’t appear to align with client goals, or a completed article doesn’t match the brief, you’ll need to be confident in calling it out. We are looking for candidates who can spot gaps or friction within our current processes and systems, and help drive forward improvements.

As a 100% remote team, we carefully balance collaboration with an environment that enables everyone to do their best work. You’ll need to be confident in communicating with the team through Basecamp (our project management software) and Google Meet, and with clients through Slack, Email, and video calls. The majority of the team is located in Europe, and we have clients all over the world. You’ll thus be expected to regularly attend meetings between 9am–5pm GMT, with occasional calls outside these times.

Beyond the above, the ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate the following soft skills:

  • Receptive to feedback with no ego and solutions-oriented: You can take a constructive critique, act on it, and get better. At Ellipsis, continuous improvement is more important than being right.
  • High level of self-awareness, a “people person”: You’ll be dealing with clients and members of the team on a daily basis, so this is an integral part of the role.
  • Self-driven work ethic: You need to be self-motivated, proactive, and see projects through to completion.

Compensation

  • This is a full-time, 100% remote role. You’ll be a full team member, and involved in our team projects, work, and meetups.
  • Competitive salary with pension benchmarked to UK rates and based on experience.
  • £33-38k/year salary, depending on experience.
  • 28 days of paid holiday
    • An additional 1 paid holiday day a year with each year of tenure, up to a maximum of 5 additional days.
  • 4-day work week, once a month.
  • Genuinely flexible working.
  • Regular team retreats (~1 per year); last was Istanbul, previously in Edinburgh, Oxford, Madrid, and Budapest.
  • Time and budget for learning and development.
  • Enhanced maternity/paternity leave, and sick pay.

Application process

It’s important we find the best candidate for this position, and our selection process will reflect this. You’ll be required to attend at least three interviews (by video call) and carry out a (paid) freelance project with us before we make an employment offer.

Much of our company Wiki is externally accessible, and you’re encouraged to read through this before applying. We have a very useful guide to our interview process available here. This tells you what we’re looking for and reading this will significantly increase your chance of success!

Please apply through Workable: https://apply.workable.com/getellipsis. We will decide who progresses to the next stage based on the form you submit, your cover letter, and your CV. Please give us a good reason to select you! Taking the time to research the role, what we’re looking for, what we do, and what you can do for us will increase your chance of success. Your cover letter is where you have the space to do this.

Whilst we love technology and sit at the leading edge of its adoption (we automate hundreds of thousands of actions a month internally), we want to hear from you rather than from ChatGPT.

The deadline for submission is the end of the day, on 30th September 2026. We’ll be in touch with all candidates following the close of applications.

We do great work for clients and are building an ethical business that lets everyone do their best work. If you think you could be the next person to join our team, please apply!
