
Endoscopy Administrator
We are seeking a professional and proactive Endoscopy Administrator to join our team at Ormiston Hospital. This is a permanent part-time position (0.6 FTE), working Monday to Friday in rostered shifts.
About the Role
The purpose of this role is to provide quality administrative management of outpatient appointments for the Endoscopy Service. You will ensure the delivery of a timely, professional service that meets hospital standards through compliance with policies and protocols.
Key Responsibilities will Include
- Greeting and admitting patients, managing phone enquiries, and redirecting calls as the first point of contact for the service.
- Contacting patients upon receipt of referrals, coordinating appointment dates, and ensuring all clinical notes and documentation are ready for the procedure.
- Processing patient invoicing for insurers and DHBs, as well as managing refund processing.
About You
You are a team player with a strong customer service ethic and the ability to work autonomously under pressure. You demonstrate a competent knowledge of administrative tasks, including computer and accounting systems.
Ideally You Will Have
- Previous experience in Endoscopy or surgical booking coordination (2 years preferred).
- At least 2 years of work experience with a customer service and administration focus.
- Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (particularly MS Excel and MS Word)
- Excellent interpersonal skills and a professional telephone manner.
- Must have the legal right to work in New Zealand, either as a New Zealand citizen, resident, or hold a valid New Zealand work visa.
- Familiarity with Hospital Systems such as TechOne and WEBPAS
- Experience processing medical insurance approvals such as Southern Cross (desirable)
