About BFY

At BFY, we work as trusted advisers to some of the UK's leading organisations across the energy and utilities sector, helping clients solve their most complex commercial and operational challenges.

What sets us apart is our combination of deep industry expertise and practical consulting capability. Our people have led businesses, transformed operations and delivered major change programmes before becoming consultants. We understand the realities our clients face because we've experienced them ourselves.

Our work spans strategy through to implementation, helping clients improve commercial performance, transform operations, optimise customer journeys and deliver lasting business value.

As demand for our services continues to grow, we are expanding our capability across B2B Energy, Commercial Operations and Metering.

We're proud to have been recognised as one of the UK's Leading Management Consultants by the Financial Times, featured in The Sunday Times Hundred as one of Britain's fastest-growing private companies, and recognised multiple times as a Great Place to Work.

The Opportunity

We are looking for an exceptional leader with deep expertise in one or more of the following areas:  B2B Energy, Commercial Operations and Metering . The successful candidate will have a proven track record of building trusted client relationships, be able to shape complex consulting opportunities and develop a significant portfolio of business.

You will be accountable for developing our presence within this market, defining our proposition, expanding our network, winning new clients and growing strategic accounts.

This role requires far more than sector knowledge. We're looking for someone who combines commercial thinking, strategic insight and operational transformation expertise.

Our clients need advisers who can understand the commercial drivers behind their businesses, engage confidently with Executive and C-suite stakeholders, and translate strategy into practical transformation programmes that deliver measurable results.

You'll lead conversations around areas such as commercial strategy, sales transformation, customer operations and metering, while bringing together BFY's wider expertise across operational transformation, billing, debt, customer operations, technology and AI-enabled transformation to solve clients' biggest challenges.

Success in this role requires someone who is comfortable being responsible for delivery of a portfolio of ~ £1-2.5m annual revenue through the growth of strategic client accounts and the acquisition of new logos. at the same time as leading consulting teams and delivering complex transformation programmes.

What you'll be responsible for

  • Building trusted relationships with senior client stakeholders across the Retail Energy and Metering market.
  • Growing a portfolio of strategic accounts while securing new client relationships and new logo
  • Owning revenue growth and delivering agreed growth targets.
  • Developing and executing BFY's go-to-market strategy across B2B Energy, Commercial Operations and Metering.
  • Identifying, shaping and winning complex consulting opportunities.
  • Leading major commercial and operational transformation programmes from strategy through to delivery.
  • Working collaboratively across BFY to bring together the right expertise to solve clients' most significant business challenges.
  • Building BFY's reputation within the market through thought leadership, industry engagement and client advocacy.
  • Coaching and developing consulting teams whilst maintaining exceptional standards of delivery.

What we're looking for

We're looking for someone who has established themselves as a recognised leader within the B2B Energy or Metering sector and has built trusted relationships with senior decision-makers.

You'll bring:

  • Significant experience within either B2B Energy, Commercial Operations and/or Metering. Experience in Consumer energy is also advantageous
  • Strong strategic and commercial thinking with the ability to translate business strategy into operational transformation.
  • A proven track record of developing Executive and C-suite client relationships.
  • Demonstrable success growing strategic accounts, winning new business and delivering revenue growth.
  • Experience shaping and delivering complex transformation programmes across commercial, sales, customer operations or metering.
  • The ability to navigate ambiguity, influence senior stakeholders and lead multidisciplinary consulting teams.
  • A strong network across the UK energy sector and credibility as a trusted adviser.
  • A collaborative leadership style, recognising when to bring together specialists from across BFY to create the best outcomes for clients.

Don't tick every box?

That's okay.

We're looking for exceptional people, not perfect CVs.

If you've built a strong reputation in the energy sector, enjoy building trusted client relationships, thrive on solving complex problems and believe you could make a real impact at BFY, we'd love to hear from you,  even if your experience doesn't match every requirement listed.

Experience matters, but so do curiosity, ambition, integrity and the ability to work collaboratively. Some of our best people joined us because they brought something different.

If this opportunity excites you and you believe you'd be a great addition to our team, we'd encourage you to get in touch.

Why BFY
