2ND CLASS TRADESMAN | Bayswater, VIC

Put your sheetmetal skills to work producing quality rainwater products in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Working hours: 4:00pm – 12:00am, afternoon shift

Design Sheet Metal is seeking a skilled and reliable 2nd Class Tradesman to join our production team.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone with sheetmetal experience who takes pride in producing quality products accurately and efficiently. The successful candidate will play an important role in manufacturing rainwater products and other sheetmetal components while contributing to a safe, productive and high-performing team.

About the Role

Reporting to the Production Supervisor, you will be responsible for manufacturing rainwater products and other sheetmetal components to required specifications, quality standards and production targets.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Safely and efficiently operate brake presses and other sheetmetal equipment
• Manufacture rainwater products and sheetmetal components accurately and to specification
• Read and interpret drawings, job sheets and production requirements
• Accurately measure materials and work to required specifications
• Carry out sheetmetal folding and fabrication to a high standard
• Ensure finished products meet required quality standards and production requirements
• Work efficiently to meet production targets and complete jobs accurately and on time
• Maintain a clean, organised and safe work area in accordance with workplace health and safety requirements

About You

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

• Previous experience working with sheetmetal
• Experience operating a brake press
• The ability to accurately measure and work to specifications
• The ability to read and understand drawings and job sheets
• A good understanding of sheetmetal folding and fabrication
• The ability to work independently as well as effectively as part of a production team
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality
• A good understanding of workplace health and safety requirements
• The physical capability to safely handle sheetmetal and finished products
• Reliable attendance, punctuality and a strong work ethic
• The ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced production environment

Desirable

• Experience manufacturing rainwater products
• Experience working within the roofing or sheetmetal industry
• Experience operating CNC brake presses
• Experience working with heavy-gauge sheetmetal
• Experience manufacturing custom flashings, gutters, sumps and rainheads
