About Adzuna

Adzuna is a job search engine that lists every job, everywhere. From our launch in the UK in 2011, we now have tens of millions of visitors a month and are busy conquering the world from our office in West London, helping millions of people find better, more fulfilling jobs.

We are a commercially minded team that moves fast, takes ownership, and loves what we do. As our global footprint expands through international scale and strategic acquisitions (including Seiza, Getwork, and Joblift), we are looking for an exceptional Senior Finance Manager to oversee and streamline our multi-entity finance operations.

About the Role

This is a high-impact, hands-on role for an ambitious Senior Finance Manager ready to own accounting and financial control across our global business. Reporting directly to the CFO, you will oversee day-to-day accounting operations within a lean finance team.

In this role, you will run multi-entity group consolidation, international financial reporting, month end reporting, statutory compliance, and tax across our UK, US, French, German and Australian entities. You will ensure robust financial controls, coordinate the annual audit, and partner with local regional specialists to manage our international payroll and tax compliance.

Whether you are a high-performing Senior Finance Manager ready for a broader mandate, or a Financial Controller from a smaller tech company looking for greater international scale, this is an ideal opportunity for a proactive finance professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and wants to build a best-in-class global finance infrastructure.

What You'll Do

Group Accounting, Consolidation & Controls

  • Multi-Entity Consolidation: Own the month-end and year-end close process, producing accurate consolidated group management accounts across UK, US, and European entities.
  • Financial Controls: Ensure strict compliance with accounting standards, maintain the group finance calendar, and continuously refine financial controls as the business scales.
  • Audit Leadership: Act as the main point of contact for external auditors, managing the annual audit process and statutory accounts preparation.
  • CFO Support: Partner with the CFO by providing accurate consolidated figures and schedules to support executive decision-making.

Tax, Payroll & Compliance

  • Tax compliance: Manage UK VAT reviews and declarations, French TVA, German sales tax. Coordinate US tax filings. Execute global transfer pricing agreements.
  • Tax Schemes: Annual compliance reporting including UK/French R&D tax claims, PSAs, and P11Ds.
  • Payroll & Benefits: Oversee payroll preparation, review and payment alongside our external local payroll providers to ensure accurate and timely global payroll execution. Administer employee benefits, including pension feed uploads and HSA contributions.
  • Stock Option Compliance: Support the CFO with data for EMI and US 409A valuations, maintaining cap table records, and submitting annual HMRC option filings.
  • Corporate Governance: Handle company secretarial filings, share issuances and global insurance renewals.

Team Management & Operational Oversight

  • People Management: Oversee day-to-day transactional accounting (AP, AR, and GL maintenance), guiding and developing junior finance support within our lean team.
  • Working Capital & Treasury: Drive group cash flow reporting, manage international cash balances, oversee month-end payment runs, and manage multi-currency banking relationships.
  • Advisory & Platform Management: Serve as the primary operational contact for international tax advisors and accounting firms. Act as the administrative owner for key finance systems (including Xero, Stripe, PayPal).

  • Qualifications & Experience: Qualified Accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) with experience as a Senior Finance Manager or Financial Controller in a fast paced tech, marketplace or high growth business.
  • Technical Knowledge: Strong core accounting fundamentals with exposure to multi-entity environments. Eager to take ownership of group consolidations and coordinate international payroll, tax, and compliance, and equity administration alongside local market specialists.
  • Audit & Advisory Management: Experience supporting annual audits and working alongside external accounting, tax advisory, and banking partners to ensure smooth global compliance.
  • Mindset & Execution: Highly organised and proactive, with a proven ability to take ownership and stay ahead of deadlines. Comfortable navigating our current stack (Xero/Stripe/Paypal). Commercially minded, with the ability to work closely with the wider business to meet our goals. Able to manage and negotiate with key suppliers.
  • Fintech & Automation Savvy: Experience implementing or administering modern financial tools to automate workflows.

Nice to have:

  • Industry Background: Prior experience in a high-volume transactional environment e.g., online marketplaces, e-commerce, SaaS, or fintech.
  • International Exposure: Experience working within a multi-currency group structure and collaborating with outsourced overseas accounting partners.
  • Language Skills: Professional or conversational proficiency in French or German to liaise effectively with European entities, tax authorities, and local advisors.

  • Reward: Our package which includes a competitive salary, stock options (we are all owners!) and a contributory pension scheme.
  • Wellbeing: Amongst other things, enhanced maternity and paternity leave; 25 days paid holiday per year plus 8 bank holidays; 3 paid volunteer days/year; Summer hours through July and August (we finish at 4pm on a Friday); and a full programme of wellbeing activities and events.
  • Hybrid working: We are a fully hybrid company - half our workforce is remote. With employees located in different time zones, we embrace asynchronous work and ensure that everything we do reflects the hybrid nature of our workforce so that everyone feels included. In addition, we have a travel programme, to help facilitate effective hybrid working.
  • Flexible working: For those working out of our London office, we have a flexible working policy which means you can work from home 2 days per week (Mondays and Fridays); shift your working hours, and/or work from a remote location for up to 5 days per year.
  • Diversity & inclusion: We are committed to hiring a diverse workforce and creating an environment where everyone feels included and welcome. Our D&I committee helps deliver a programme of activities and actions to support this important area.
  • Training: Learning and development is an important pillar of our culture and there are plenty of opportunities to learn, develop and grow whether through our Adzuna Academy training programme, attending conferences, team training budgets, individual development plans and coaching from experienced and supportive peers and managers.
  • Fun stuff: We have a packed social calendar, twice annual global team get-togethers and an enviable culture thanks to the amazing and smart people who make Adzuna a great place to work. Lots of this is done virtually to ensure that everyone is included.
