We are seeking an IT Quality Engineer with a strong background in manufacturing environments to bridge the gap between our production operations and digital infrastructure. In this role, you will ensure the reliability, compliance, and performance of the IT, OT (Operational Technology), and software systems driving our automated manufacturing facilities.

You will validate digital shop-floor systems, oversee system integrations (MES, ERP, SCADA), and establish quality assurance protocols for manufacturing IT infrastructure, ensuring zero downtime and strict adherence to industrial digital standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Establish and execute Quality Assurance (QA) and system validation protocols for shop-floor IT systems, including MES (Manufacturing Execution Systems), ERP, SCADA, and IoT devices.
  • Ensure IT compliance with manufacturing industry regulations (e.g. ISO 9001, GAMP 5, ISO 27001, 21 CFR Part 11) and data integrity guidelines.
  • Lead root cause analysis (RCA) and CAPA for IT system outages, data synchronization failures, or automated line disruptions.
  • Collaborate with OT, Automation, and Systems Engineering teams to validate software updates, digital twin integrations, and PLC-to-IT data pipelines.
  • Design automated and manual test plans for custom manufacturing software, shop-floor applications, and industrial edge computing solutions.
  • Monitor system availability, data latency, and digital quality metrics across manufacturing lines to support Industry 4.0 continuous improvement.
  • Manage IT Change Control processes, ensuring software patches, system upgrades, and hardware deployments do not interrupt active production.
  • Proven experience as an IT Quality Engineer, Systems Validation Engineer, or Quality Assurance Specialist within a manufacturing environment.
  • Solid understanding of manufacturing IT/OT architecture (MES, SCADA, ERP systems like SAP, industrial networks, and IoT frameworks).
  • Practical knowledge of software testing, automated test scripts, and system validation lifecycle frameworks (e.g. GAMP 5, V-Model).
  • Familiarity with manufacturing quality standards (ISO 9001) and IT service/security management frameworks (ITIL, ISO 27001).
  • Experience with root cause analysis methodologies (8D, 5-Why) applied to IT system failures and software defects.
  • Strong ability to translate complex manufacturing shop-floor requirements into technical IT quality specifications.
  • Education: BSc/HND in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Industrial IT, or a related technical discipline.
  • Certifications (Desirable): ISTQB Advanced, ITIL Foundation, Lean Six Sigma, or Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA).
